With a population of nearly 300.000 Malmö is an intimate city with a big-city feel, offering a wide range of high class cultural entertainment and sporting events. Thanks to its seaside location Malmö has unique qualities as a beautiful coastal city. The Ribersborg area has a 3 km bathing beach, and right next to it is Västra Hamnen with its pubs, cafés, boating and bathing from wharfs and promenades. Distances are short and its position in the middle of the Öresund region means it is close to the metropolis of Copenhagen and the charming countryside of Skåne.
